I don’t care much for GitHub and recommend better git forges like sourcehut and Codeberg, but I understand that it’s being used as a way for people to flaunt their skills to potential employers.
GitHub rewards their users with ‘achievements’ for performing specific forge-related tasks, which would contribute to the above goal. Here’s an easy way to get the ‘Pull Shark’ achievement (opening a pull requests and having it merged), and contribute to a good project.
JustDeleteMe is ‘a directory of direct links to delete your account from web services’. It rightly states that ‘many companies use dark pattern techniques to make it difficult to find how to delete your account’.
An easy way to get ‘Pull Shark’ is to just add a site to the JSON file of sites that JustDeleteMe uses. I’ve done this 2 times already because I find the service helpful, but it’s surely got to be one of the easiest ways to get the achievement.
